Relations to Animal Farm
Both dystopian novels are the best work of George Orwell. They are both stories related to political meanings. Animal Farm is a satire piece of the Russian Revolution about socialism going mad and communism gone wrong. Nineteen Eighty Four is about an governing system that has too much power over its citizens. In Animal farm the animals worked everyday while starving due to the greed of the pigs. In Nineteen Eighty Four the protagonist Winston and everyone else is oppressed by the Party in every means. It even forces implementation of an invented language called Newspeak, which prevents political rebellion by erasing all words related to it. The Party prohibits free thoughts and any expression of individuality. This is similar to Animal Farm because the animals work all day without a chance to talk to the other animals they are told that Napoleon is always right and they followed his words. The animals work without any freedom they were once promised retirement after 12 years old but retirement never came and they continued working to their death.
The party of Nineteen Eighty Four revised history and made its citizens believe in their revised truth. There is a heavy use of propaganda by the leaders of the community. Alike to Animal Farm where the pigs used propaganda on the animals. In Nineteen Eighty Four the citizens were told that the leader of the opposing group is the most dangerous man alive. This is similar to when Napoleon made up lies about Snowball after his exile. Napoleon made Snowball sound like a villain that betrayed his comrades and was a spy for the humans. When actually Snowball was working hard for the better good of the community.[9]

Why did George Orwell represent the event in the way he did? How successful was he?
Many of George Orwell’s stories are related to political issues. Each one of them brings something like a warning. Animal Farm was a warning to the people to never let history repeat itself, never let one person take all the power and obey without questions. Nineteen Eighty Four was a story to warn us of a future where government takes all control and becomes a dictatorial society. He shows us these warnings through creating a dystopia. The stories he wrote are what he fears to happen in the future. According to research it was said to be the most influential book in the 20th century. It also earned him a Prometheus Award for his contributions to dystopian literature. Proving him to be very successful in influencing others to be wary of the future we are headed towards.
